What are Top, Heart and Base Notes in Perfume?

• Top Notes: Also known as the opening notes or head notes, top notes are the first thing you detect when you apply a fragrance.
• Heart Notes: Also referred to as middle notes, heart notes are the scent you smell once the top notes have faded. They are considered the main character of a perfume.
• Base Notes: Base notes form the foundation of the fragrance, along with the heart or middle notes. They are the finishing notes of a fragrance.

Fragrance Ranges: Eau de Toilette vs Parfum

What is eau de toilette and what is eau de parfum? The main difference between the two luxury perfumes and fragrances is the concentration of fragrance oil.

• Eau de Toilette (EDT): EDT is considered a light perfume with a perfume oil concentration between 8-12%.
• Eau de Parfum (EDP): EDP contains a higher concentration, normally between 12-18%.
