The collection reflected the eclecticism of how women dress now. Borrowing time-tested elements of style, twisting and changing them to make them new, to make them personal.
In that vein, makeup artist Diane Kendal began with a cinematic reference of Mariel Hemingway and Meryl Streep, fresh-faced and coolly undone in 1970s films such as “Manhattan.” She and her team began with NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, Radiant Creamy Concealer and Laguna Bronzing powder to create a canvas of dewy skin to which they added a light dusting of faux freckles with NARS Brow Perfecter pencil. There was more of a statement to the eyes, with NARS Longwear Eyeliner under the eye and smudged up onto the lid. “It’s very loose and casual,” said Diane.
As a foil to Kendal’s retro inspiration, hairstylist Guido Palau took a turn for the clean and sharp. He sectioned models’ hair to create the edgy look of an undercut to a sleek single braid. “It’s a bit skater,” he explained, “but sleeker, with a very groomed finish.”
