What Are Espadrilles?

Espadrille shoes are defined by a rope or braided jute sole and are traditionally crafted with a canvas or fabric upper. Originally a casual shoe with humble beginnings, designer espadrilles have become a trend-proof summer icon — and a signature style within our shoe collection.

Our Espadrille Edit

A warm-weather essential, women’s espadrilles are like a vacation in a shoe. But their versatility goes beyond sunny getaways. From classic espadrille slip-on flats in soft leather to leg-lengthening wedge sandals with signature hardware, discover how to wear espadrilles and what style works for you.

Espadrille Flats:

A classic closed-toe espadrille can be dressed up or down and pairs perfectly with tailored pants, jeans, dresses or shorts. Leather espadrilles in neutral shades or black espadrilles are effortless — a timeless go-to that can also be worn through fall. Try bright white espadrilles or textured styles, like crocheted raffia espadrilles, with crisp sportswear for the perfect weekend or vacation-ready look. If you prefer to break from the traditional, modern riffs like espadrille loafers, espadrille mules and espadrille sneakers are trend-forward alternatives to the comfortable flat.

Espadrille Wedges & Platform Espadrilles:

All the comfort and stability of espadrille flats, with a leg-flattering lift that elevates any outfit. The thick hand-stitched jute footbed and flexible rubber sole provide a solid foundation for wherever your day (or evening) takes you.  What to wear with espadrilles? The key is to show the shoes. Skirts, dresses, and shorts are ideal to wear with espadrille wedge sandals, lace up espadrilles and platforms. They also look great with cropped denim or trousers.

Espadrille Sandals & Slides:

Open-toe espadrilles, flat or heeled espadrille sandals and espadrille slides are the ultimate anchor for a summer wardrobe. Flat sandals and slides are laid-back essentials that are as comfortable as they are versatile and stylish. Strappy espadrille heels with sculptural hardware are perfect for work, parties and special events.

How to Clean & Care for Your Espadrilles

To ensure the longest life of your luxury espadrilles, be gentle in their everyday wear and avoid exposing the jute sole to damp or wet surfaces. Spot clean mild stains with a mild detergent or soap and water. For leather, apply a very small amount of clear or same-color leather polish and lightly rub with a soft cloth. Store espadrilles in a cool, dry place inside their dust bag, away from direct sunlight.
