MAKEUP
Diane Kendal for MAC

The Look
Beautiful and fresh, with gorgeous luminous skin.

The Skin
Prep the skin with toner and moisturizer, before using a light-coverage foundation.

The Cheeks
The Cheeks
Use MAC’s Fall in Love lipstick for the cheeks, for a really healthy glow. Dab your finger on the top of the tube, then apply on the apples of your cheeks. Start at the center, blending out in a clockwise motion. You can also use a foundation brush to make sure it’s all beautifully blended. Add a tiny bit of highlighter — like Emphasize from MAC’s Studio Fix Sculpt and Shape Contour Palette — on the top of the cheekbone

The Eyes
Apply the Sculpt shade from the above MAC palette across the eyelids, using Emphasize for highlight. Curl the lashes. Apply a regular mascara — just one coat on top.

The Brows
Brush first. See if there are any gaps, and then fill those in. Just follow the natural shape of the brow, and maybe extend a little bit at the end.

The Lip
Just lip balm. If your lips are naturally a really strong color, then dab a little foundation to take it down.

My thoughts on the no-beauty beauty trend…
It’s not really a trend; it’s always present. Who’s not going to look good when you’re accentuating all your great features?

HAIR
Guido Palau for Redken

The Look
Easy sophistication. Natural texture.

Prep
Start with clean, dry hair. If your hair is curly, leave as is. If it’s dead straight, then use an iron to get a little movement, a loose bend, in the hair.

The Steps
Using a wide-toothed comb, comb back your hair around your crown towards the back of your head. Moving in 1-inch sections, apply quarter-sized amounts of Redken Full Frame 07 All-Over Volumizing Mousse to your crown and head shape with the wide-toothed comb while leaving your baby hairs out. Set hair with clips tightly around your ears to hold the look and allow hair to dry. Once dry, run a blow dryer quickly over the style and remove the clips. Use your fingertips to fluff up the baby hairs around your hairline to keep the look a bit softer and get that effortless ease.

My thoughts on the no-beauty beauty trend…
It’s definitely relevant now, but I think women do love to fantasize and dream so the idea of doing more “done” hair is on the horizon. No-beauty beauty is great because it feels more achievable, but women also want to be able to go to a salon and get a blow-dry — they want both options. There is room for everything.

NAILS
Kim D’Amato for Priti NYC

The Look
Very natural, very simple.

The Color
Priti NYC’s Pearl Drift — a sheer pink.

The Steps
Apply cuticle oil — nails tend to be dry due to this heat. Then apply one base coat, one layer of Pearl Drift, and a top coat.

The Shape
Squoval — a square oval. File straight across and then curve at the sides.

Essential Self-Care Tip
Hydrate! Especially in this heat. Like your hair, nails are affected by the heat and by dehydration. Do drink a lot of water — and put on cuticle oil.

My thoughts on the no-beauty beauty trend…
Less is more — that’s where society is now.
