Tory and interior design legend, Robert Kime, on an inspiration trip in Japan, 2019

In his native England and beyond, Robert Kime was revered for his discerning eye for antiques and textiles, and incomparable ability to layer disparate periods and cultures into “perfectly imperfect” living spaces. The celebrated interior designer, and dear friend of Tory, passed away on August 22 at age 76. Tory collaborated with Kime in 2020 on an exclusive collection of fabrics and wallpapers, inspired by an unforgettable trip they took together to Japan. In a Tory Daily interview, she described his “keen ability to see beauty in unexpected ways” — something he will undoubtedly be remembered for around the world.

“I think I would like to say that I am most appreciative of being able to look at my work and feel it is substantial,” Kime told us in his Tory Daily Cat’s Meow. Read the original post here.
