To celebrate the forthcoming launch of her thought-provoking book of essays, My Body, Emily Ratajkowski joined us at our New York City flagship for a conversation with fellow author Lisa Taddeo. Seated before a diverse audience of entertainers, authors and entrepreneurs — including Ziwe, Moses Sumney, Karlie Kloss and Raven Leilani — Ratajkowski and Taddeo covered themes ranging from womanhood to feminism to sexuality. Many of the same themes that the authors examine in their respective works. “One of the reasons I was so excited that you wanted to do this is because I think we wrestle with a lot of the same ideas,” Ratajkowski said. “Female desire, relationships between women, whether it be mom or friendships…” Over the course of the evening, Ratajkowski reflected on the significance of female friendship, the importance of owning your story and the advice she would tell her younger self. Surrounded by so many inspiring people, the event felt like the perfect kick-off to the holiday season.
