Horseback riding through the colored leaves. My father used to live in Greenwich where we did this yearly. Now we’re in LA and the color change isn’t as extreme, but there is a beautiful park called Tree Park that still gives me a little feeling of the East Coast fall.

In L.A., fall is really a continuation of summer. I like to walk on the beach at sunset, take day trips to Malibu and enjoy all the amazing treats that arrive at the farmers’ market. Even though I’m on the West Coast, I still look forward to fresh hot apple cider!
We love to go to Santa Barbara on the weekends, and, once it cools down in October, Palm Springs.
We just had a baby girl so I think we will be bringing along all of her must-havesâ€”including anything that squeaks, rocks or bounces!
A great pair of riding boots and a cozy, oversize camel sweater. I’m also loving the whole splatter paint trendâ€”I think I need the splatter painted Tory Burch jeans that everyone is talking about!
My favorite restaurant in Venice (CA not Italy!) serves an incredible hot apple cobbler with cold vanilla ice cream that is crave-worthy.

Walking through Central Park with my husband as frequently as possible. In fall, New York is at its most romantic.
Luckily, we live half a block from Central Park, so no packing necessary. Just packing in the free time together.

I’m not a huge dessert person but my husband and I look forward to white truffle season. I prepare a simple fettuccine with light butter, plenty of Maldon salt and freshly cracked pepper, topped with shaved white truffles—who needs dessert!

I’m a sucker for a great scarf. My current obsessions include: A crazy lettuce green Isaac Mizrahi, a washed cashmere Lanvin, and one from a little known company called Fluxus. And If I happen to win the lottery, a gold Rolex and a new Tom Ford suit.
I’m currently avoiding dessert and alcohol, but who knows how long I can hold out? Check back with me in the spring.

For a weekend upstate or at Fire Island (which is even better in fall than summer), I pack a few Petite Bateau T-shirts, my Rag & Bone cashmere sweater, black Keds, APC jeans, Zimmerman underthings, and my Burt’s Bees lip shimmer.

My favorite fall event in Hong Kong is the Mid-Autumn Festival. It’s a family event and the children gather outside at dusk, carrying lanterns. It’s a beautiful sight, like a Sargent painting. There is always a harvest dinner, the Chinese version of Thanksgiving in the U.S.
Going to my parents’ house in the Berkshires. The foliage and colors are breathtaking, and I love the crisp air, I miss it living in the tropics!
I always pack a Flip phone to record my kids.
Apple cider. It brings back memories from childhood, when our neighbors gave us cider from their orchard.

A drive up to Woodstock; I used to live there and cursed the “leaf peepers” … now I’m one of them! The Bear Cafe in fall is just perfect.
I am a hippie at heart, and feel right at home at Esalen in Big Sur.
All I bring is a pair of jeans and a sweater and yoga clothes. They have dancing, hiking, workshops, yoga and a cafeteria with lots of vegan food. Massages are only $60!
