DESCRIPTION

Color:
A metallic-washed take on a cable-knit classic. Seen at our runway show, the Shawn Tunic is a striking sweater and one of Tory’s favorite looks of the season. It’s made of a marled gray wool blend that’s foil-printed from the top down — creating a unique dégradé effect that highlights the rich texture of the yarns with understated shine. Easy to dress up or keep casual, it’s an effortlessly polished style — and an unexpected way to tap into fall’s armor-inspired aesthetic.

Style Tips

Accentuate the silver sheen of this sweater with pops of gunmetal metallic: a sharply pleated lamé skirt and an oversized statement handbag. For a chicly casual — and cozy — look, ground it with skinny jeans and tonal over-the-knee boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Classic with a Twist - but beware, not for everyone! I fell in love with this sweater online - the knit, colors, and subtle metallic sheen were very unique and caught my attention immediately. Prior to ordering it, however, I decided to visit my local store and try it. The sweater was just as beautiful (albeit, darker than photographed) in person - and the metallic shimmer caught the light quite nicely. They had paired it with the Audra skirt, and I liked the look (I'm a sucker for all things grey and gunmetal) so I tried the both of them on together. I took a 12 in the skirt, but ultimately an XS in the sweater (after trying on the small). I am a pear shape, and at 5'1", this silhouette of this skirt + the sweater did me no favors. Still, not wanting to give up on the beautiful sweater, I tried it on over a pair of skinny jeans. The sweater itself, was still beautiful; but the effect on me was not the most flattering or desirable. Unable to make up my mind, I returned a week later to again try on the sweater, this time with black pants. Again, I did not find the shape flattering, and it actually pained me. The effect on the top half was fine, I suppose. But it is a chunky sweater, and definitely added bulk. It was just too long for my frame, and very obviously too big throughout the torso, and sadly made my bottom half look all the more bigger (and I was appreciative that the staff was tactfully honest with me). If you are fortunate enough to be taller and with a more proportionate shape than I - then this may work beautifully on you! It is a gorgeous sweater, of the highest quality - the wool is warm and not itchy. And it is a true investment piece - on the right body type, it can be layered over a short winter skirt and tights, or just very opaque tights + some boots; or leggings, or jeans... October 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A True Investment Piece! If you buy one chunky statement knitwear item this season, I suggest you invest in the "Shawn Tunic." This sweater is gorgeous! I normally would not have considered spending this much on a sweater, but to me, it has all of the elements of a "forever" piece-the chunky knit, the length, the oversize fit, the classic gray coloring and the degrade/ombre metallic. It can be dressed up or down and while some of its stylistic elements may come and go from season to season, gray, knits and ombre always come back. I am 5'7" a 34 A/B and have a slim and long torso. I wear a 6-8/29-30 pant/jean size and found the XS to be the best fit for me. It did not bunch or pool at my waist or hips and skimmed over my bottom without clinging. Despite the XS size, the fit was roomy enough to be trendy and flattering. Overall I would suggest sizing down and then keeping it folded to retain its shape. I am looking forward to a cold Wisconsin winter to snuggle up in this beautiful sweater! September 25, 2014
