For native New Yorker Casey Fremont, Los Angeles has become a bit of a second home. As Executive Director of Art Production Fund, she’s constantly in the city — staying for a short stint every six weeks or so — to keep tabs on the West Coast art scene. (“It’s an added bonus that my husband [a private chef] is working here as well,” she notes.) Here, Fremont, gives us the scoop on a recent trip to LA.

5:45 AM
Wake up, slip out of bed and go through emails. I would NEVER get up so early in New York, but there is something wonderful about staying on East Coast time when I’m on the West Coast.

6:00 AM
It’s 9:00 AM in New York, and I take advantage of the time difference and get morning conference calls done early while my kids are still sleeping.

7:00 AM
My husband heads to work and I take my kids to the Fountain Room at the Beverly Hills Hotel. My boys love to sit at the counter at any restaurant, so a place that is only a counter means that it’s their perfect breakfast spot!

8:30 AM
Kiss my kids goodbye and set up my mobile office in a quiet corner of the hotel lobby to catch up on emails and conference calls

Noon
Lunch at Sqirl where the vegan crispy rice salad is one of my favorite dishes on earth. It’s worth the car ride there, and the long line… I can’t resist a slice of blueberry olive oil cake with my latte.

1:30 PM
Emails and calls in my Uber to a studio visit with one of my favorite LA-based artist collectives, FriendsWithYou. Their work is all about spreading good energy. The perfect pick-me-up!

2:30 PM
LA gallery visits: Maccarone, Venus over Los Angeles and Hannah Hoffman.

4:00 PM
Meet up with my husband and kids at LACMA, one of my favorite museums and, I think, one of the best places to take kids in LA. We visit multiple times when we are in town. It’s such a treat to wander through the major sculptures on the plaza, there is always an excellent special exhibition, and we visit the Boone Children’s Gallery to give my kids the chance to make their own paintings. My son asks to see Chris Burden’s Metropolis II every time we are there — ArtBaby success!

6:00 PM
Early family dinner at SugarFish. As the sons of a chef, my children are completely obsessed with the omakase. People stare as my three year old downs endless pieces of sashimi.

7:30 PM
Tuck my kids into bed.

8:00 PM
Meet Ryan Kelly and Brennan Gerard at the Hotel Bel-Air bar. We have just co-presented Gerard & Kelly’s performance piece Modern Living at the Schindler House in West Hollywood, and we are meeting to toast the success of the project and discuss the upcoming iteration of the project at the Glass House in May.

10:00 PM
Watch a little TV and hang with my husband. Good Night.
